I had lost my dog after 13 years to cancer in 2018. It took me a long time to get past the daily sadness and be grateful for the time we had together. About 10 months later, NiSHA was getting a group of puppies and dogs from our partner rescue in MS and I spotted a dog who reminded me so much of Shellbie. I wasn't quite ready, but I couldn't stop thinking about her! She was 9 months old and named Annette. She looked like a little fox. As fate would have it, I ended up taking her home on the 1 year anniversary of Shellbie's death. I think a gift from Shellbie to say that it was time. Freja is now two years old and such a fun and loving girl.
