Shelter Adopted:

In January of 2014 my now husband began working the graveyard shift at work. We had just moved into our house and it was very quiet at night by myself. I decided I wanted to adopt a puppy and started researching. I identified a puppy at a different shelter I wanted but when I called the puppy had already been adopted. I saw a posting for a puppy adoption event south of the city I lived in and decided to stop by on my way home for work. The minute I walked in a spotted a pile of puppies sleeping on each other all from the same litter. Every puppy seemed to look like a rottweiler except one. When I bent over the one that looked like a fuzz ball walked over to me so I picked her up. From that point on she would not let me put her down so I told the people there, "I think this is my dog". They told me the litter came in that morning from Texas. They knew the mother was a German Shepard and assumed the father was a Rottweiler since every puppy but the one I was holding looked like a Rottweiler. I filled out the paperwork and took her home. We named her Molly and she has the sweetest disposition on the planet! As she grew it became pretty clear that she is not at all Rottweiler but instead is half Golden Retriever. Molly is wonderful with our kids and every night when we are putting them to bed she comes in and checks their rooms and gives them kisses like she is Nana from Peter Pan. Molly is the perfect family dog and her favorite thing to do is to just sit watch the neighborhood through the screen door. We could not imagine our lives without her.
