My family adopted a puppy,           in March of 2014. In September we decided that Molly needed a brother or sister pup to keep her company when we were at work. We started looking on line at the Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue. This rescue is great and posts pictures of every puppy coming up for adoption and what week. Their events are very popular and you have to get there early to line up if you are interested in a puppy. We had our eye on a border collie/shepherd mix on the website and there were three available. There was also a giant litter of Husky mix puppies available and every time we looked at the website one puppy in particular would make my husband Clint giggle because in his pictures he looked like a hot mess. On the site he was named "Haystack" and he was the runt of this Husky litter. He was also the only male puppy out of 8. In every picture his blue eyes looked like they were bulging out of his head and his hair was standing straight up so he looked as though he had been electrocuted. When we showed up to the event we were 8th in line out of hundreds of people (we showed up over an hour early) and the process is that you get your own little cubby and it is required you meet with three dogs. We decided to stick to our plan and meet the male and female border collie puppy and then we needed a third. I told Clint we had to meet Haystack since he had become a bit of a celeb at our house due to his pics and the rest is history. The second we met Haystack we both just had that feeling that this is our dog. We named him Tom Nalen after the NFL center and former BC college player. Nalen has turned into a wonderful dog! He is definitely quirky, he has 6 toes on each of his back paws, he has beautiful blue eyes, and talks non stop. He loves to take naps on his back with his belly up - always in the middle of a room so people have to walk around him. He is so sweet with our daughters and loves to cuddle. We are so lucky that we found him and he and Molly are the cutest brother and sister pair around!
